The focus of our next networking night for rural journalists and agribusiness professionals will be future-proofing not only Australian agriculture, but crops around the world. We have moved this Rural Press Club networking event to Horsham in western Victoria, home to our national grains genebank. It’s crucial to unlocking more resilient and profitable crop varieties and like the system of genebanks around the world, acts as a Noah’s Ark for crop diversity. Come down after work on Friday to hear from international and Australian specialists from a local farm, the national genebank through to the international system that fund and holds it all together. Learn something, meet peers and hear from those who are dedicated to highlighting the important work of genebanks and collecting crop wild relatives.

Rural Press Club of Victoria President and ABC journalist, Laura Poole, will host this entertaining panel session featuring The Hon Tim Fischer AC (Crop Trust), Sally Norton (Australian Grains Genebank), Kent Nnadozie (International Treaty) and Tony Gregson (Crawford Fund). Join us to network with fellow agribusiness professionals and media at Bonnie and Clyde's Pizzeria in Horsham. Drink on arrival and snacks.
