Eligibility for Entry to the Rural Journalism Awards
|
Any financial Rural Press Club member who is a working journalist or photographer may enter the Rural Journalism Awards. Stories or photographs must have been published, or presented on radio or television, and must have relevance to people, issues or places from within the catchment area.
For example, a story on rural health may pick up on an issue of national or international significance and be published in a Queensland newspaper or broadcast on national radio, but to be eligible for the Awards, it needs to include significance or quotes from people or places from within the catchment area.
The catchment area covers all of Victoria, plus the border regions of Sunraysia, Riverina, Albury-Wodonga and South East South Australia.
A panel of independent judges consider all nominations submitted and determine the winners and those that are highly commended.
